Nowadays, it is becoming a trend that many Chinese actors change their nationalities. There are many reasons for this trend，but, I think the following two major causes may help illustrate the concept.
First, Chinese actors think they can develop their careers further through changing nationalities.
For instance, jet Li, he is one of the actors of The Founding of a Republic. In this film he act as a Navy Commander, the role is cool, serious and patriotic. As an international film star who was born in Beijing, China, he had joined American nationality .After several years working in the United States, he renounced his American nationality and joined Singaporean nationality, in 2009.Because he began his new acting career in Hollywood at that time, he joined American nationality, he said, it was helpful for his career.
Second, in order to look for better living conditions, many Chinese actors chose to change their nationalities. China is a developing country. Its living standard is not quite satisfactory. Some of Chinese actors want to bring out better education conditions, medical conditions and housing conditions for themselves and their children.
It is universally known that in some developed countries, there are many Screen Actors Guilds. In the protection of the interests of actors, they play a significant role. For the Chinese actors, the change of nationalities means that they can gain more interests and welfares.
Personally, the reason why many Chinese actors change their nationalities is diverse. We should not criticize it. It’s just a simple phenomenon.

It is their personal choice to change their nationality. This is like divorce: perhaps their affection for the country has somehow disappeared, or perhaps they come across something better. We can criticize them from a certain moral stand, but there is nothing wrong with their personal character.
Don’t be too extreme, I think. Having a foreign nationality does not mean betraying our country. Patriotism is a kind of spirit. With this spirit, we make contributions to our country .Those actors joining foreign nationalities still return to make films for China, to represent China in international film festivals. They are contributing to China.
